Currently I am using Opera 43. Unfortunately at some webpages there is no sound in web media players (mp3 and aac playback fails, however youtube videos work). I tried to install opera-ffmpeg-codecs, but it didn't solved the sound issue. Opera says there is a newer version 45. But I am unable to find that package anywhere. It is the latest version which supports 32 bit. I tried to convert Opera 45 from a .deb and a .rpm package, but without success. Any custom repo which contains version 45 ?

Sadly we had to blacklist opera, see https://github.com/archlinux32/packages … /blacklist.
32-bit support has been dropped in version 46.0.2597.26.
The only option I see is you download the latest 32-bit version and convert that one:
https://get.geo.opera.com/pub/opera/des … 898/linux/
Concerning version 45, maybe take version 46 if it works..

What I was also considering: is there some interest in an AUR opera package with the last 32-bit version of Opera?
The problem is a little bit: Archlinux32 is supposed to be bleeding edge, so if software is no longer supported, tough luck.

Mmh, just tested. My opera starts but hangs on every access to a page?

Aha. Opera too is optimized for SSE2. Then it works.
I made a local repo in case you don't want to convert the deb package by hand:
cat >> /etc/pacman.conf <EOF
[aba-aur]
Server = http://archlinux32.andreasbaumann.cc/aur/$arch
SigLevel = Optional DatabaseOptional
EOFpacman -Syy opera32
Note: opera32 conflicts with opera.

Thank you very much, it works now, I was able to install it by adding your repository. And indeed, I had to uninstall opera 43 first. Unfortunately this newer version 45 works a bit slower, except when I swith on the battery saver mode, then it becomes acceptable again. Would be nice to know how can one make the battery saver mode permanent?

You can change pkgver in the PKGBUILD any time and package your own version of opera,
if that one is faster and more suitable to you:
yaourt -G opera32 (or download the tarball from the AUR)
# set pkgver
makepkg -si
I packaged the last version because of security bugs.
Anyway, Opera will not be usable in a while because it either gets security issues or
new features arise in the web. :-)
