The DNS record doesn't seem to be available.

I had the same question some time ago, this was the conclusion
.oss is an openNIC tld.
It's listed in the mirror list in case, someone resolves via openNIC and prefers an "open" solution over the official one.
Is there any specific reference to mirror.archlinux32.oss on the download page? If so, we should change it to .org.

I think, without convincing your bind (or nameserver of choice) to use the alternative DNS roots from OpenNIC you cannot resolve
'archlinux32.oss'. See https://wiki.opennic.org/opennic/t2hints.

The dns record is available via opennic and the server responds on that name.
Maybe, we should put a comment about that into the mirror list, though, because there seems to be some confusion?

Agree, I didn't know about OpenNIC either. A comment on top of the .oss entry in the mirrorlist file would be helpful.
