Hello all,
sorry for my bad English
here I am installing an archlinux32bits on an old laptop (Acer Aspire 1680). Everything works startup, reboot, wifi, touchpad etc ... except the shutdown of the pc which is incredibly long.
I managed to copy the messages that are displayed before the shutdown of the laptop:
INFO: task shutdown:1 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
Tainted: G W 4.19.81-1.0-lts #1
"echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.

My problem is that peeling the web I have not found a solution to this problem!
I ask for a hand in order to be able to solve this recurring problem. Do not hesitate to ask me logs or others because I do not know what to provide.
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your response and sorry for my late response.
I already test 'acpi = off' but this function blocks me the keyboard and the touchpad. Then, with this option, the laptop is not fully done I must press the power button to finish the shutdown.

Hello everyone,
I performed a debug of the system shutdown by following the instructions of https://freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/s … n_Problems.
I post the result so that a charitable soul can analyze it: http://www.mediafire.com/file/jfzgif4l4 … g.txt/file.
For my part I think it would be a problem acpi but just for kernel 4.x and 5.x.
Indeed I managed to compile the kernel-lts 3.16.78 recovered on https://www.kernel.org and everything works perfectly.
This solution is, I think, not a fix because I do not know if a system is sustainable in time with a downgrading kernel.
What do you think ?
I tested various options as well as the dsdt recompiler but that does not change anything.
Now I am running out of ideas.
If someone with notions of kernel compilation could look into this problem or tell me if there is a patch or how to isolate or identify this problem it will be extremely cool.
I thank you in advance for any help you could give me and do not hesitate to ask me logs or other files that might advance in this problem.

Hmm, I'm slightly surprised at all of those 'Found redundant job' lines, but it's fair to say I've never watched that kind of log when shuttdown down, only the messages spat out at the screen when the system's heading downwards. Looking at the important end of the log I see it's happy that it's successfully mounted sda3, I think in a read-only manner, which I think is your root file system.
I'm again curious at the 'Successfully forked off '(sd-remount)' as PID 1328.' between the announcement of 'Reached target power-off' which I reckognise as amogst the final dozen messages whenever I turn my machine off and the first message about it trying to remount root. Is it some kind of automounter you have running?
Architecture: pentium4, Testing repos: Yes, Hardware: EeePC 901+2GB RAM+OS half on the SD card.
