Succesfull install on old Thinkpad X61s

Hi. Thanks for all the hard work. I resurrected my Thinkpad X61s from a drawer today. It works fine now with Wayland and Sway. I like that its both fast and reasonably quiet.

I'm going to use it as a daily driver when attending my software engineering university program smile

I edited the wiki to mention pentium4 arch as it seems missing in most PKGBUILDs.

The only thing that I did not get working was Zoom in a firejail. If anyone has that working I would be happy to hear how you did it.  I really dislike the proprietary software that my university has mandated me to use to be able to interact with the others. They even encourage me to start using oRifFiCe365 and GoOgLe dRiNk&dRiVe, but I'm not gonna take the bait smile

I will probably setup a nextcloud on a VPS and use that instead if I really need to share something that can't be shared easily on email or whatever.

Cheers from Sweden.

Good news. You are the first one I hear of using Wayland successfully. :->

Re: Succesfull install on old Thinkpad X61s

I can start up weston and fire up a terminal at least for a bit over a year now as I recall.  Unfortunately, I've never managed to spawn a terminal in sway, but it certainly shows a pretty clock on my screen.

Architecture: pentium4, Testing repos: Yes, Hardware: EeePC 901+2GB RAM+OS half on the SD card.

Actually, I also own a Thinkpad X61s, which is 64-bit. So you might be better off with 64-bit Archlinux. :-)
